Blind Sport New Zealand (BSNZ) is calling for nominations for Life Members from affiliate members and Sport New Zealand Group Partners. Life Membership is the highest level of achievement within BSNZ and aims to recognise outstanding individual contribution to blind and low vision sport within Aotearoa New Zealand.
This is the first time BSNZ will formally recognise Life Members in its history. By celebrating the achievements of outstanding past and present members, BSNZ history will be remembered for years to come. This information will be formally documented to help ensure that it is not lost and the younger generation of blind, deafblind and low vision athletes can look back on the incredible achievements of those who came before them.
The first group of Life Members will be recognised later this year with their achievements showcases through both BSNZ’s website and social media platforms. Education & Programmes Manager Casey Flint said “I’m so excited that BSNZ will recognise the achievements of our long serving members who continue to help pave the way for future blind, deafblind and low vision athletes”
Nominations for Life Membership are now open and close on Monday 19 October 2020 (one month before BSNZ’s Annual General Meeting). For more information, including criteria and nomination form, please follow this link: BSNZ Life Membership.
