Last year John Puhara was named as the first Blind Sport New Zealand Life Member, in recognition of his outstanding individual contribution to blind and low vision sport within New Zealand. We sat down with John to learn more about his experiences in blind and low vision sport throughout the years.

The 2021 Halberg Games
In April, the Halberg Games took place at Auckland’s King’s College. Tamariki and rangatahi traveled from all over the country to participate in this exciting three day sport competition, which is for young people with a physical or visual impairment. This year almost 200 participants took part, making it the biggest Halberg Games on record.
